MONUMENT TO THE FLAGS

They are series of sculptures in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. The monument consists of 120 women in a total of 21 pillars, which opened in 1948 on the occasion of the IX Panamerican Conference on April 30, 1948. This led to the creation of the Organization of American States. (OEA).








" LA MERCED " SCHOOL

This school is the oldest school in Bogotá.
In 1839 La Merced School began as the first official institution dedicated to the education of women.
It was 134 years in the Capuchin convent until it was transferred to Mosquera in 1974 by decision of the government of Cundinamarca.


















" LA SABANA " STATION

This building replaced the old station built in 1887 and it was used to open the railway from Bogotá to Facatativa. Actually is the superintendency of ports and transport.









NATIONAL PARK " OLAYA HERRERA "

It has a central passage adorned with lanterns and benches, that starts at the sidewalk of the seventh street and continues toward the east until you reach the clock tower. This clock tower was donated by the Swiss Community in 1954.














NATIONAL MUSEUM

Natural Museum is the oldest in the country and also one of the oldest in America. During two centuries has been dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of cultural values of the nation. It was and important Jail during 72 years.










BULLRING " LA SANTAMARIA "

A beautiful architectural place in which people enjoy bullfighting. This bullring is famous in Bogotá for all historic value.

THE PLANETARIUM

There is a large dome and it has a projection system that reproduces by electric means, optical and electromechanical celestial phenomenas.
This dome is 25 meters in diameter. It's one of the largest in Latin America.
